We've also noticed that lots of other retailers who had installed fish spas are now getting rid - this begs the question, what are they doing with their fish? We are rescuing forty fish today from a local hairdresser who simply 'can't be bothered' anymore as they are now not making them much business. A lack of research into the work involved and pushy sales techniques led to a saturation of the fish spas and now the peak has been reached and the decline starts. I’m hoping people will be responsible and give their fish back to the people who they bought them from.
We are debating whether to put a second treatment in the shop and moving the fish spas around - one of our tanks is not functioning well so we are not replacing it. We are moving the fish into the remaining tanks and scaling the fish spas down but through natural wastage.
We are also concerned that the works on the indoor market are going to have a negative impact on the business when they start in February. Our shop won't be directly affected but scaffolding and works are going on all around us which will surely affect trade. Can we claim a rent rebate if this is the case or should we look elsewhere which would be very difficult!
The hairdressers we've inherited are brilliant - very motivated and hardworking and are a huge asset to us and our therapists are bonding with them nicely.
