My rateable value is just over the criteria for small business rate relief so I have to pay full whack! Naturally I have asked for a re-evaluation to be told that they have made a mistake and they will be INCREASING my rates by further £2000 per year!!

This is ridiculous!!! OMG how easy it is to try and make a small business work in the country with a helpful government like ours?

Wait for it... the reason they have increased my rates is due to the fact that my toilet / sorry state for a stock room is divided by a partition wall and not a stud wall. This makes the toilet a display area and thus rates apply!
