Obviously I didn’t expect hundreds of people to drag themselves out of bed to check out the website, so I’ve been really pleased with the number of hits we’ve had so far. What’s better is that people are spending a good amount of time on the site.
Today has been a great start and instantly I felt a new wave of energy. The website is still very much a work in progress I’m now working on feedback from our visitors which I feel is a lot more productive and beneficial for the website.
Instead of storming blogs, emails, letters and Twitter accounts I'm going to gradually advertise the site over the next two weeks. This is so any small kinks can be ironed out over time.
As an extra boost of excitement today I was contacted today by someone at a large milk brand. They are launching a lactose free milk this summer, they have said they like the site and I’ve been told if the site gets traction they would like to advertise and test through the website. This was a very nice surprise to reconfirm that the commercial viability of the project.
The majority of the basic functionality is up and the rest is coming over the next week or so, I’ve tried to make it as clear as possible (even with a cheesy video) that the site is new so our visitors have some tolerance with us.
Please check out the site: www.FreeFromUK.com I’d be really keen to hear your feedback and will keep you informed of how it goes.
Mike
