Reflecting on the last months swimming inafishbowl.com, we have had some pretty fantastic ups and hard knocks too. I am really thankful for all the advice I have received from all the expert commentators, as well as a BIG HUGE THANK YOU TO THE FANTASTIC FISHBOWL TEAM!

Some highlights include:

- trading in the most prestigious shops in London where we have gone dressed as Cacti and also played Mariachi music as we offered customers a taste of our products.
- developing a product new to the UK, Tamales, which is exciting and definitely brings challenges. I would say I am at the beginning of my learning curve about marketing premium niche products and developing a loyal customer base. I believe strongly that we do have something special, and a huge potential.

Moving Forward Despite the Bank

I think you’ll agree with me that opting to run your own business means NOT opting for the easy option. There’s a huge degree of resilience required, which one needs to develop along the way to cope with the difficulties. As the bank said no to lending to the business, we moved on to (another!) personal loan.

Some weeks whizz by and by Friday I wonder “gosh, what have I actually achieved this week?”. Well, luckily, this week wasn’t like that for me. I actually achieved a lot of stuff. We have taken another part-time person on board on production and this makes a huge difference. My multi-faceted week looks like this:
